Niviss originated from the optoelectronics division of Maritex, a company that distributes electronic components and parts. To this day, the two companies are family-owned and related.

Maritex was founded in 1987 in Gdynia by Leszek Łosin, an electronics graduate of the Gdansk University of Technology, and is now one of the largest, rapidly growing distributors of electronic components in Poland.

In more than 30 years of business, the company has managed to develop a number of distribution agreements with world-renowned manufacturers of electronic components.
Maritex offers products from sectors such as semiconductors, passive components, optoelectronics, electromechanics, mechanics, power supply, industrial automation, sensors, acoustics or wireless transmission.

Niviss starts its operations in 2011, initially as a brand of LED products within the Maritex company structure. Then, in 2012, it is transformed into an independent company with an engineering and manufacturing focus on solutions based on LED technology. In the same year, the company invests in its own laboratory facilities and R&D department.
From the very beginning, Niviss cooperates with the American company CREE, holding the status of CREE LED Solution Provider and offering products based on CREE LEDs.
In the first years of its activity, the company focuses mainly on the design and production of LED modules. In subsequent years, it develops its own brand of ground and pool lamps and horticulture products.
In 2021, Niviss opens new production floors and expands its machine park to include new SMT lines.
